An interview with legendary British wedding dress designer, Sassi Holford.
Sassi Holford and Twilight trees have worked together for several years. When Luby went wedding dress shopping it was serendipitous that the dress she fell in love with, just so happened to be one of Sassi’s designs. Luby and Sassi ended up working together once more but this time to design the dress of dreams.
We were lucky enough to get the opportunity to chat to Sassi a few weeks before #AVeryTwilightWedding
Luby fell in love with one of your dresses in a bridal boutique but approached you with a vision. What was the initial concept and how have you worked together to bring it to life?
During my consultation with Luby, I worked to combine her vision using elements of my dresses she had fallen in love with. Once we had the framework in place, we focused on making sure the gown reflected Luby’s bubbly, fun personality through unique details.
What are the influences behind the dress?
Femininity. Embracing the female form in the most flattering way with cleverly constructed corsetry adding an element of fun with the detail.
Can you describe the dress in three words?
What do you enjoy most about the bespoke process?
I believe every one of my gowns should empower women to embrace their individuality and enhance their inner confidence. Every bespoke journey is unique, and I am lucky enough to witness a bride radiate with confidence as the journey goes on.
What upcoming trends do you see coming to the wedding industry?
My personal favourite is the drop waist. We’ve seen it on the catwalks and now it’s coming to bridal.
What do you love most about Twilight Trees and what they bring to a wedding?
I think they add a magical energy to the evening and encapsulate the romance of the day into the night.
Is there anything else you’d like to say to our readers?
We have had Twilight Trees installed in our London flagship window several times and they never disappoint. They always create a stir receiving compliments from our clients and passers-by.
