The Orangery, Bahrain is a contemporary eatery with Arabic flavours and European design. Sage greens and neutral tones sit alongside both european and Art Deco influences.
Twilight Trees were approached to create bespoke lemon trees that were irregular in shape and sit in the centre of a circular seating arrangement. We used real preserved gnarly Olive trunks and luscious fire retardant ficus leaves. The lemons add a pop of colour to an otherwise green and neutral room.
We also created several hanging hoops of irregular foliage at the top of the sweeping stairway. This was to be a work of art and a statement piece.
“From concept to build, It’s fantastic to see the hoop in situ. The stairwell has strong architectural lines which are stark white and natural wood. The suspended foliage transforms the negative space and provides a juxtaposition of tones and textures that are almost iconic”, Luby Howden.
