How did you start your career in the events industry?
My event career started straight after I completed my degree in International Event Management at the University of Brighton. I worked as a Christmas co-ordinator at the Coppid Beech Hotel.
How long have you been at Coworth Park and what does your role involve?
I have been at Coworth Park for almost 2 years. My role is to manage and create bespoke events for all different client-types. Whether it is a four day exclusive use meeting for a corporate group, or a 50th wedding anniversary – we do it all! The great thing about the events we host here is that they are all so different. Each day is never the same. My role as the Director of Events is to manage the events team and oversee all bookings that pass through the events office.
What is the most creative event that you’ve directed with at Coworth?
That’s a difficult one, however the most creative event I’ve directed at Coworth Park recently would be a summer party in our Lime Grove. This featured a variety of activities from horse riding, to folk dancing out on our lawns, then in the evening they moved inside for a formal Gala dinner, which was great to organise both styles of event in one day for the same group. It was a long day but very rewarding!
If you were to plan your dream event at Coworth what would it be and how would you do it?
My dream event at Coworth Park would be out in the Meadow. A BBQ with an acoustic band as the sun is setting – bliss!
Coworth Park attracts all kind of high profile guests, do you still get a buzz if someone exciting is in-house?
Of course! I don’t think it will ever go. You never know who you may bump into.
What do Twilight Trees add to an event?
Part of Coworth Park’s design is to bring the outdoors in, which is exactly what Twilight Trees offer. They really are the finishing touch to any event.
If you didn’t work in events what would your second career choice have been?
My second career choice would be accounts – though I much prefer my first choice!
